Overview

Sexual Risk Avoidance Education grant funded program that reached youth (10-13) and their families. It is an evidence-based interventions and will narrow its focus to the neighborhoods with the highest needs. The project will be comprised of three integrated components (Components 1, 2 and 3) and is designed to empower the participants with decision-making skills, evaluation capabilities, communication skills, presentation design and implementation, and self-reflection. It will also work to increase self-awareness, self-esteem, confidence, and empowerment, including the ability to resist peer-pressure and to effect positive change.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and other employees,
  • Interact professionally, courteously, and appropriately with children, parents, and other employees.
  • Contribution and participation include data collection, analysis, implementation of and compliance with risk management and claims activities, support of and participation in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) teams.
  • Act as the liaison between school, PTP program and parents
  • Engage families to events and host activities and celebrations at the of the program year.
  • Coordinates special projects.
  • Determines and secures required resources and support services.
  • Plans and prepares work schedules. Follows-ups on required details. Monitors progress and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Employees will be responsible for the coordination of youth group which includes tracking sign in sheets, along with parents consents and other required school documents.
  • Responsible for liaising with school personnel over memoranda or understandings and other documentation required to implement programming.
  • Will also facilitate evidence-based curriculum to youth groups.
  • Will serve as Parent Coordinator in our Fully Grant Funded Program “Picture the Possibilities.”

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years’ experience working with youth in an after-school setting
  • Have knowledge of social determinants of health and their effect on youtth
  • Spanish preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • High School or GED
  • Bachelor’s
  • Basic ability to utilize information technology systems and database, spreadsheet and
    word processing software and office equipment.
