Overview

Under the general supervision of the Director, manage the day-to-day operations of the Out Patient Department clinical program, including program development, clinical planning, clinical flow and staff supervision. Directly supervises Clinical Coordinator.

Responsibilities

- Responsible for the clinical flow of the clinic to ensure that patients are in proper groups and that intakes, admissions and discharges flow smoothly.

 


- Assist the Program Administrator and Director with program development activities including implementation of evidence-based treatment and sound clinical practice.

 


- Maintains and reviews personnel folders under supervision of Director. Participates in evaluation and disciplinary actions involving staff as determined by Director

 

 


- Monitors Staff productivity. Oversees staff schedules including coverage during vacation, sick and holiday time. Resolves coverage issues as needed. Trains and orients clerical staff and assists in training and orienting of professional staff.

 

 

- Processes financial and statistical reporting on a daily, weekly and monthly basis for each designated clinic. Coordinates managed care approvals and referrals

 


- Responsible for supervision of professional and clerical staff, including assisting the director in the hiring and evaluation of staff.

 


- Assigns non-clinical tasks to staff, maintains quality and timeliness of task accomplishments. Assists in developing and implementing administrative systems and procedures to improve efficiency of department.

 


- Contributes to and participates in the Performance/Quality Improvement activities of the department.

 


- Establishes and maintains positive relationships with patients, visitors and other employees. Interacts professionally, courteously, and appropriately with patients, visitors and other employees. Behaves in a manner consistent with maintaining and furthering a positive public perception of The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Health Center and its employees.

Qualifications

- Two (2) years supervisory experience in Healthcare setting

 

- Working knowledge of basic accounting and fiscal management

 

- Baccalaureate in Healthcare related field (Required)

 

- Master’s (Preferred)

 

- People Management (Required)

 

- Working knowledge of MS office
