Security Sergeant

Under the direction of the tour Captain performs specific duties and responsibilities related to command. Assists uniform security personnel by administering proper in-service and training. Motivates staff, enforces policy, rules and regulations and resolves pertinent situations which threaten the safety of hospital, patients, staff and others.

Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors, and other employees. Interacts professionally, courteously, and appropriately with patients, visitors and other employees. Behaves in a manner consistent with maintaining and furthering a positive public perception of BronxCare Health System and its employees.

Instructs and trains subordinate staff in daily duties and responsibilities

Enforces the hospital’s rules and regulations.

Responds and takes charge of serious, unusual situations that require
security supervisor’s attention.

Evaluates the work performance of all subordinates.

When staffing permits, makes building/post inspections and signs
subordinate memo books.

Responsible for the good order of subordinates and enforces chain of
command.
May assume the duties and responsibilities of a subordinate rank, in a
temporary capacity, when staffing is short.

Minimum of two (2) years security supervision/managerial experience and/o law enforcement Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written to meet and deal with the public

Complete the NYS Security Guard Certification Training Course

New York State Security Guard License

High School or GED
