Overview

Performs and obtains high quality, high resolution imaging with adequate shielding and collimation (ALARA) essential for fluoroscopic guidance on all patients (i.e. In-Patients, ED Patients & Out Patients); patient positioning and preparation.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors and other employees.  Interacts professionally, courteously, and appropriately with patients, visitors and other employees.  Behave in a manner consistent with maintaining a positive public perception of BronxCare Health System and its employees. Contributes to and participates in the Performance/Quality Improvement activities of the assigned department.  Participation in continuous Quality Improvement, adhering to the specific rules and regulations of BronxCare Health System (a) Safety and Security Policies, (b) Risk Management Incident and Occurrence reporting, (c) Infection Control Standards and (d) Patient and Customer service.Performs and obtains high quality, high resolution imaging, adequate shielding and collimation essential for fluoroscopic guidance exams on all patient (i.e. In-Patients, Emergency Room patient or Private Out Patients).Ability to perform complex angle (e.g. anterior posterior (ap) lateral or oblique views which is often necessary during fluoroscopically guided procedures to ensure proper needle placement Assists the Interventional Radiologist in positioning patient for image-guided percutaneous procedures.Familiarity with fluoroscopic and radiographic equipment and other imaging systems.

 

Qualifications

Two (2) years experience as an X-ray Technologist and minimally one (1) year experience working in an Interventional Radiology (special procedures) setting


- At least one (1) year of experience as an X-Ray Technician

 

- New York State License as X-Ray Technician (Legally Required)

 

- Completion of approved course of study in Radiology/X-Ray (Required)

 

- Computer Literate (Required)
