Overview

Assists the Purchasing department in carrying out appropriate functions to maintain an efficient office operation.

Responsibilities

- Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors, and other employees. Interacts professionally, courteously, and appropriately with patients, visitors and other employees. Behaves in a manner consistent with maintaining and furthering a positive public perception of BronxCare Health System and its employees.

 


- Contributes to and participates in the Performance/Quality Improvement activities of the assigned department. Contribution and participation includes data collection, analysis, implementation of and compliance with risk management and claims activities, support of and participation in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) teams, consistent adherence to the specific rules and regulations of the BronxCare Health System (a) Safety and Security Policies, (b) Risk Management: Incident and Occurrence Reporting, (c) Infection Control Policies and Procedures and (d) Patient and Customer Service.

 


- Handles all telephone callers by assisting and directing calls to the appropriate individual.

 

 

- Responsible for submitting all vacation requests, missed punches, overtime, etc. forms as approved by the Manager to Materials Management.

 

 

- Prepares all department requisitions into the ordering system as requested by the Manager.

 

 

- Scans all packing slips, etc. received by the department into the Scanning System.

 

 

- Types and submits correspondence to Vendors regarding issues with shipments received, short orders and back orders.

 

 

- Assist with running reports as requested for supply usage to be use in par level adjustments.

 

 

- Assist in distribution of payroll checks.

 

 

- Give reminders of all required appointments, annual education, and department policies to the staff.

 

 

- Maintains a neat and orderly office.

 

 

- Assist when requested with any additional duties as required by Manager as well as the Director of Materials Management.

Qualifications

- Must have previous office experience

 

- High School or GED

 

- Good Typing skills
