Overview

The Speech/Language Therapist will provide services to both the Ambulatory Care Network Clinic patients and BronxCare Health System in-patients. The Speech/Language Therapist will report directly to the Director of Audiology/Speech Pathology. Consultation services will be provided upon request to all other departments within Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center. Services will be provided to persons of all ages with communication and/or dysphagia disorders.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors, and other employees. Interacts professionally, courteously, and appropriately with patients, visitors and other employees. Behaves in a manner consistent with maintaining and furthering a positive public perception of Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center and its employees. Contributes to and participates in the Performance/Quality Improvement activities of the assigned department. Contribution and participation
includes data collection, analysis, implementation of and compliance with risk management and claims activities, support of and participation in Continuous Quality Improvement.Assess, selects and develops augmentative and alternative
communication systems and provides training in their use. Provide evaluation of dysphagia patients using FEES (Flexible Endoscopic Eval Swallow) and provides MBS (Modified Barium Swallow) testing.Assumes responsibility for in-service training and program development.

Qualifications

-Three to five (3-5) years of clinical experience with children and adults

-New York State License in Speech/Language Pathology

-Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SPL) for the American Speech/Language Hearing Association.
