Overview

To work under direct supervision of registered pharmacist in duties not prohibited by State Law, prepares drug requisitions and unit dose cassettes, receives and unpacks supplies, stock shelves, delivers any orders and run errands.

 

Responsibilities

- Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors, and other employees. Interacts professionally, courteously, and appropriately with patients, visitors and other employees. Behaves in a manner consistent with maintaining and furthering a positive public perception of Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center and its employees.

 


- Contributes to and participates in the Performance/Quality Improvement activities of the assigned department. Contribution and participation includes data collection, analysis, implementation of and compliance with risk management and claims activities, support of and participation in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) teams, consistent adherence to the specific rules and regulations of the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center (a) Safety and Security Policies, (b) Risk Management: Incident and Occurrence Reporting, (c) Infection Control Policies and Procedures and (d) Patient and Customer Service.

 


- Reconciles drug orders against invoices, unpacks, stock shelves and stores.

 


- Fills requisitions at various pharmacy locations, under pharmacist supervision, and delivers them.

 

 

- Prepares labels, prepackages and labels under direct supervision, utilizing available equipment.

 

 

- Responsible for inventory of prepackaged drugs and assists in the record keeping and compiling of departmental records.

 

 

- Assists the pharmacist in the preparation of pharmaceutical.

 

 

- Will fill out unit dose cassette form patient profile card.

 

 

- Responsible for keeping the shelves, sinks, cabinets, equipment, and refrigerators clean. 

Qualifications

- Graduate from a formal Pharmacy Technician program.


- Prior pharmacy experience

 

- High School Diploma
