Overview

Performs resident screening, insurance verification, benefit application(s), billing, follow-up and posting. Work

with Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, other third party and residents regarding financial responsibilities and

payments. Process claims and maintains confidential information. Assist in all accounts receivable activities as

required. Assist the admissions department with the daily Census reports. Update activity logs in RHS resident

daily activity.

Responsibilities

Contributes to and participates in the Performance/Quality Improvement

activities of the assigned department.

Contribution and participation includes data collection, analysis, implementation of and compliance with risk management and claims activities, support of and participation in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) teams, consistent adherence to the specific rules and regulations of the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center

(a) Safety and Security Policies

(b) Risk Management: Incident and Occurrence Reporting

(c) Infection Control Policies and Procedures and

(d) Patient and Customer Service.

Qualifications

High School diploma required.

3 years prior collection experience in a healthcare setting or equivalent combination of education, training or

experience.

Knowledge of NYS Medicaid eligibility rules and regulations.

Must be able to analyze data and report findings in a constructive and solution oriented manner.

Should be able to prioritize workloads, offersuggestions and meet deadlines.

Must have effective communication and interpersonal skills; customer service skills; ability to interpret and communicate information; to identify and meet customer’s/resident’s needs and

desire to learn new information and skills.
