Under direct supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation Services, provides prompt and safe transport of residents throughout the facility and performs all functions related to patient transport including assisting nursing staff with transfer, connection/disconnection of Oxygen under direction of Nursing Staff and maintaining and cleaning the stretchers and wheelchairs. Performs related work as required.
-Transports residents from units to units and newly admitted and discharged residents.
-Assists nursing staff with transferring residents to and from beds, stretchers and chairs.
-Responds to transport task with needed transport equipment(wheelchairs or stretcher, oxygen tank) in a timely manner.
-Returns wheelchair or stretcher to the storage area after task.
-Provides transportation services and assistance during disaster situations.
-One (1) year experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility setting preferred.
-High school or GED required.
