Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, LPN, provides specific direct patient care activities, and performs related support functions.
-Accurately performs and records vital signs, including blood pressure.
-Performs Phlebotomy including finger sticks.
-Performs blood glucose testing using a glucometer.
-Instructs patient and obtains specimens, sputum, urine, and stool.
-Measures and records input and output.
-Performs simple unsterile dressings.
-Disinfects equipment after use, such as EKG monitor, glucometer, etc.
-Assists in psychological, recreational, motivational and social.
-Two to three years in acute/chronic or ambulatory setting.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
-Patient Care Technician Certification
