Overview

Job Title: Family Medicine Attending Physician

Location: Ogden Clinic – South Bronx, New York

The Ogden Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Medicine Attending Physician to join our team in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to a diverse and underserved community in the South Bronx. The physician will provide comprehensive primary care, walk-in, and urgent care services while addressing medical, behavioral, and social determinants of health. The ideal candidate will be a team player who is committed to clinical excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive, continuous, and coordinated primary care to patients presenting for medical services.
  • Deliver walk-in and urgent care services, managing both acute and chronic health conditions.
  • Perform thorough assessments and develop care plans that address medical, psychological, and social needs of patients.
  • Manage chronic medical conditions, ensuring evidence-based, guideline-concordant care.
  • Address acute medical problems in a timely and clinically appropriate manner.
  • Address quality indicators and healthcare maintenance needs for each patient, as appropriate.
  • Review and close outstanding action list items related to preventive care, chronic disease management, and follow-up needs.
  • Order, interpret, and follow up on laboratory, radiological, and specialty test results in a timely fashion.
  • Refer patients to appropriate specialty and subspecialty services as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with nursing, administrative, care coordination, and social work staff to ensure high-quality and integrated care.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Respond promptly to patient phone calls, text messages, electronic messages, and other communications.
  • Participate in clinical performance improvement and quality initiatives.
  • Uphold a positive, professional attitude and promote a respectful, welcoming clinical environment.
  • Ensure a positive patient experience by fostering trust, accessibility, and culturally sensitive care.

Qualifications

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Medicine
  • Current New York State medical license (or eligibility for licensure)
  • DEA certification
  • BLS certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience preferred, though strong new graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Demonstrated commitment to underserved populations and community health
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
