Receiving Clerk

Performs the work involved in the receiving, unpacking, storing and issuing of supplies and equipment, and performs all pertinent and related duties as assigned form time to time by the supervisor.

• Performs cleaning tasks, sweeps, mops, wipes and/or dusts shelves, equipment and stock so to maintain the general neatness and cleanliness of working areas.

• Assists in training of new employees, makes minor repairs to articles in stock files and maintains records, wraps or packages material for shipment.

• Stores, controls and issues supplies or equipment. 
• Checks incoming goods and determines whether they should be stored or delivered to a specific department.

• Assists in providing space for storage.  Clears space and unloads, unpacks, stores and delivers goods to specific departments.

• Signs receipts for goods received.  Enters data and verifies contents with delivery sheet documents.

• Verifies stock numbers and specifications against original purchase order.  Reports discrepancies to supervisor.

•  Fills requisitions from various hospital Departments/Activities/Services.

•  Selects items from stock and arranges for delivery or delivers according to instructions or schedules.  Obtains signatures of persons authorized to accept goods.

• Prepares material for shipment when necessary by wrapping, packaging and labeling.
• Assists in maintaining records of all goods received and issued.  Identifies goods by marking, labeling or other means.

• Assists in taking inventory and maintaining stock levels.

-High school diploma required.
