To perform routine, and emergency analytical and compatibility test procedures on all properly identified specimen submitted.
Prepare reagents for analytical tests according to designated procedures. Calibrate equipment and perform routine maintenance as designated.
Accession and prepare all specimens for testing. Enter specimens for log book or computer terminal as required.
Perform all tests assigned bench according to procedure manual.
Bench equipment includes, but is not limited to:
Follow all appropriate quality control procedures as designated, maintain records of it.
Report all designated “Panic” or “Out of limit” results immediately by telephone to appropriate physician. Keep records and resolve discrepancies.
Provide on-the-job training and orientation to students and new employees.
Update inventory of routine lab supplies and needs to assistant supervisor
Attend and participate in continuing in-house education meetings in order to remain current with emerging technology.
Bachelor's degree majoring in Chemistry, Biology or Medical Sciences. Licensed as a Clinical Lab Technologist (CLIA)Successful completion on ninety (90) semester hours towards a bachelor’s degree, including sixteen (16). semester hours in Chemistry courses acceptable for a major in Chemistry; six (6) of which are in Organic Chemistry; sixteen (16) semester hours in biology courses acceptable for a major in Biology and pertinent medical sciences; and three (3) semester hours in 1 mathematics, and in addition at least one (1) year of experience and training.
