Under the direction of the Director of Activities, the role of the Integrative Therapist II is to provide therapeutic
groups and programs designed for the particular population that they serve. It is the Therapists responsibility to
insure the quality and purposefulness of the groups and monitor the resident’s progress in a clinical manner.
-Administer initial assessments on all new residents. Do quarterly
updates and assessments on all residents and regular annual
reassessments in a timely manner. Provide progress notes on residents
as needed related to their progress or decline. Documentation
completed in a timely manner
-All Integrative Therapists will develop and implement group and
individual programs based on the needs of their caseload.
All Activity Therapists will provide encouragement and stimulation to
help each resident become involved in Therapeutic Activities and help
them meet their goals.
-All Integrative Therapists will coordinate a wide variety of groups and
programs related to the purpose and philosophy of the Activities
Department.
-Based on the area of expertise of each Integrative Therapist they will
order the necessary equipment to provide programs at the highest level
of quality. In addition, the Therapist will be responsible for maintaining
adequate levels of supplies via inventory and reordering as necessary.
-All Integrative Therapist will be responsible for implementing care plans
with short and long-term goals, which reflect the resident’s strengths
and areas of weaknesses. This task will be carried out in conjunction
with the resident.
-Determines appropriate outings for the residents to participate in and
accompany them for therapeutic supervision and crisis intervention.
-All Integrative Therapist will be part of a Therapeutic Treatment Team,
which will meet regularly to devise appropriate treatment for each
resident. Staff will also attend unit conferences and on-going facility in
servicing.
-All activities Staff will meet with the Director of Activities for supervision
to be determined by the Director. The Activities Department overall
functioning as determined by the Director of the Department.
Master’s Degree in mental field related to Occupational, Recreational, Creative Arts and/or Vocational
Rehabilitation with/or eligible for certification, registration and/or license.
Minimum one (1) year full time paid experience in Rehabilitative Activities or the equivalent.
Experience in working with residents in a long-term health related setting.
Must relate well with people and have an awareness of the issues of minorities and long-term illnesses.
Prior employment or voluntary history in a setting with responsibilities similar to or giving evidence of
ability to perform the responsibilities in the job description
