Overview

The Assistant Coordinator will be responsible for leading the educational, recreational, and enrichment programs
for children and family members within the BronxCare Health System network. Responsibilities include offering
guidance and support to families, working to foster a positive, strength-based environment and providing related
safety monitoring and supervising children as they participate in after-school program-based activities. The
Coordinator aids with evidence-based program development and planning, in addition to providing communitybased
serves.

Responsibilities

Managing Outreach Activities:
- Coordinates youth presentations and parent workshops
- Determines and secures required resources and support services for students and community
- Responsible for the coordinating youth groups, including tracking sign in sheets, obtaining
parent consent forms, and other documents as required by the program guidelines


Maintaining Communications / Relationship Building:
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, schools, and department
staff
- Engage in positive relationship building with schools’ staff, department peers, students, parents
and community resources


Community Engagement:
- Engage families to participate in events, host activities and celebrations during the program
year


Daily Task:
- Overseeing data collection, included but not limited to demographics, attendance, notes and
curriculum planning for online submission to adhere to the guidelines required for grant
funding
- Participate in weekly team meetings and collaborate with peers to meet program deadlines and
plan events
- Adhoc projects as assigned

 

Qualifications

- One (1) year administrative experience or equivalent combination of education, training or experience. Completion of a business or technical school program preferred.

 

- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related feild

 

- A minimum of one (1) year of experience as an After-School Counselor

 

- A minimum of one (1) year working in a community-based program

 

- Basic computer skills including Micosoft Office

 

- Must be able to work in a high-volume team environment

 

- Detailed oriented

 

- Bilingual Spanish proficient
