Reports to Manager of Unit Associates and works on Patient Care Units to perform clerical and receptionist duties related to the day-to-day operations of the Nursing Units. Are responsible for the coordination of unit activities such as admissions, discharges; patient transfers; unit and patient supplies and equipment. Assist in the coordination of patient flow and coordination of Patient Care Services under the Patient Care Manager of the designated unit.

Assists in the analysis and preparation of responses to payor denials and develop strong appeals for the purpose of securing reimbursement for acute care services provided to patients. Assist in development of strategies for denial prevention based on identification of patterns and trends identified during the course of appeals preparation. Conduct departmental performance improvement audits, analyze findings and educate staff on variances found. Conduct JCAHO preparation activities to insure hospital wide compliance and readiness. Assist in the design and implementation of educational programs for Denial Prevention and Management.
Conduct review of denied claims and audits of registration/insurance verification activities to improve denial rates and enhance revenue. In-service staff on Insurance identification/verification and reporting. When directed, audit duties are under the direction of Compliance Program.
